I stayed here last summer with my baseball team, at that point the hotel was undergoing major renovation; it really needed it. When I arrived there after not seeing the hotel for several months I was very surprised how much better it looked. The room was very clean, Staff helped me get a cab to CLT, breakfast was ok not great but free.

Overall I had a great stay. I will be in contact with the sales person Tina when I get back home to re-book my team here this summer.

Booked through United Airlines...First room was missing dead bolt, there was new carpet, but it needed to be vacuumed, bathroom mirror had toothpaste spatters, bathroom floor was nasty, there was mold in shower, moved to another room which was just as bad, but did have a deadbolt. On return trip the room was even worse, the pillows are stained and flat, holes in bathroom wall, paint splatters on floor, unclean all over, microwave was placed where you could not plug it in, the entire bottom of microwave, was saturated in grease, if it had been turned on it surely would have caused a fire. I notified the chain headquarters on our return home, and the hotel directly. Headquarters, has no interest in the complaints, and said to follow up with the hotel. I had complained nicely at the hotel at check out, and followed up with an email. Carlo Yuen(assistant manager) called me and agreed to refund the charges, it took forever to get our credit, and it was for ONE night ONLY. So he was NOT truthful. They also sent a letter for a FREE night, there is no way we would ever return to such an inferior establishment. BE FOREWARNED!!

“Nightmare”

Quality Inn - Charlotte

Where to begin...... no a/c in the lobby or breakfast area (temps outside were in the 90s)... spoiled fruit and stale doughnuts for breakfast..... two lights in bathroom, only one worked... bathroom was not thoroughly clean (hair in sink).... not enough hot water for one shower (there were two of us in the room).... curtain rod was propped on window ledge, so when the curtains were closed the rod fell down.... extremely noisy, as I could hear conversations in hallways and adjoining room... .. maids left bags of garbage on and near the tables in the hallways..... odor in hallways was unpleasant.... it was a nightmare... I booked thinking it was a Hampton Inn.. would not have booked otherwise... am happy to know it is not a Hampton Inn.... oh, and did I mention that there was a tennis ball sized hole in the twin-sized (bed was double-sized!) comforter?

“Choice Hotels Should be Ashamed”

booked this hotel because of the price, location near the airport, and the summer promotion with Choice Privileges. I had a 20% savings with the Significant Organization code. This hotel was an old Hampton Inn.

Upon arrival, I noticed the hotel was freshly painted. Once inside, I found out that they were under renovation. The lobby is poorly lit. The young woman that checked me in was very nice to me and made me feel welcome. The reservation was correct and I got my room quickly.

On my way to my room, there was new carpet and new wallpaper in the hallway. There was still some construction mess to clean up, as the workers were still working, which I didn't mind. I got to my room and it was a bit smaller than hotel rooms. I was pleased to find a new microwave and refrigerator unit. The free wireless internet worked well. I was glad that the hotel was changing for the better. I did not visit the outdoor pool.

Things changed when I went into the bathroom and found two long human hairs on a towel and washcloth. I was disgusted, so I immediately took them down to the front desk for new. The woman that checked me in was very embarrassed and apologized for the mistake and gave me two more towels. I didn't inspect the new ones, because I was on my way out, so I put the towels back in the room and left. When I returned I looked at the other towels in the room and found the same kind of hair on each towel! I returned the to the same lady at the front desk and asked for the general manager. He was not there and she knew why I was there and gave me new towels. One of the towels she gave me the second time had another hair on it. I questioned how clean the hotel actually was as I paid to have a clean room. She sincerely apologized and told me she would not charge me for the room under the 100% Quality Guarantee. I thanked her for her kindness and returned to my room. I then opened all the towels she gave me and found two more hairs! Once again I went to the front desk, but they were out of towels. I was running out of patience so I asked her to bring some clean ones to the room as soon as possible. That night the air conditioner was very loud and the beds were not the most comfortable.

The next morning we checked out early for our flight. At check out I asked the man at the front desk for a receipt. He was very rude to me and asked me if I take advantage of the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee very often. I was very offended and told him that this is the first time I have had a problem with any Choice Hotel. He then told me that I "shouldn't expect to get something for nothing". I'm not sure who this person was, but he apparently doesn't enjoy his job and should be fired from this hotel immediately.

Basically, I cannot recommend this hotel for any type of extended stay or with a family. The price was one of the cheapest in the area, but it is not worth it. I think this hotel will be nice once the renovations are completed. I thank the woman at check in for being so nice. I recommend the man at check out to lose his job, or learn how to provide decent customer service.

Please do not stay at this hotel! We booked three nights at this place because of the low low price hotels.com was able to get for us. Well, booking this hotel was the biggest mistake ever! We have an infant and all three of us were kept up half the night due to kids running and screaming up and down the halls of the 4th floor. When we called the front desk THREE TIMES, they promised to take care of it. We stood in the hall and waited for them to come and they never did even though we were assured that it was taken care of.

We checked out the morning of July 4th and found that someone had smashed out the entire back windshield of our SUV and stole a cooler no less! The hotel manager was somewhat nice and had one of his maintenance employees tape up the hatch with plastic wrap and vaccuum out the glass that was EVERYWHERE! (I had to ask him to help us with this though - i guess he figured that we would know where to get ourselves some tape, plastic and a vacuum cleaner as out of staters from VA (rolleyes) However, the hotel manager did try to claim that the glass might have imploded due to excessive heat. It was unseasonably cool there, so to make an assumption like that was pretty silly. Plus, we found later on that our cooler had been stolen. We called the police, but they didn't do anything and the hotel manager assured us that he would review the video surveillance that was pointed directly at our SUV, but we haven't heard anything back.

NO MATTER what kind of deal you get for this place, please please please do not stay here especially if you have children!! IT IS NOT SAFE!!!!!!
