This was a very nice hotel. It looks impressive inside, it's very clean, and the staff is helpful and friendly. There's a free shuttle to and from the airport, which is nice because Charlotte is expansive. All the rooms are suites, and they try to make it like a little home, with a large window that overlooks the atrium. The rooms are all situated to surround the atrium and go up several stories, so everyone gets that view. Our room included:
Living room - large table w/ chairs, one couch, one large chair, one end table, and one t.v.
Hallway - 2 mirrors, sink, microwave, refridgerator, and a coffee maker (I think...coffee's nast, so I didn't use it).
Bathroom - large mirror and sink, toilet, full bath tub with one of those curved curtain rods (nice!).
Bedroom - 2 queen size beds with, like, 100 pillows, closet, mirror with sink, 8 (?) drawers, iron, and ironing board.
There were A LOT of sinks...cool...
The free breakfast was awesome because it's made to order. It's not gourmet or anything, but it's still way better than any other free hotel breakfast I've had. They also have a bunch of other food on carts, like fruit and cereal and stuff. Sometimes if it's busy, they'll have a buffet as well, in case you're in a hurry.
The atrium is really nice, although they were doing some remodeling. It all looks very impressive the way it is, though, but the remodelers didn't get in anyone's way and weren't noisy.
We didn't check out the pool or gym, but both looked small. Hey, props for even having them, I say.
Some minor negative points:
We turned off all the lights every time we left the room in the morning, and when we came back later, ALL of them were left on by the maids. Whatever.
The last night, the people above (?) us were really loud, and we couldn't sleep. We endured it for a while, but then we had to call the front desk on them. It seemed to help though.
The blowdryer in our room was terrible! It was very hot, but very little air came out. To be fair, we never asked for a new one; it could have just been a fluke. To be safe, I'd bring my own blowdryer next time.
Overall, I got a good impression of Embassy Suites from this hotel, and I would stay at another one in the future given the opportunity. I've attached some pictures. I forgot to take them upon entering the room on the first day, so a lot of them have our stuff in the picture, and it looks lived in. Oops. At least I have pictures!
