If you like eating Mexican cuisine you're going to love Miguel's Restaurants right off I-85 and Little Rock Road. We were in Charlotte for training classes and our instructor informed us of this hole in the wall. Riding by this place that would be the first thing you would think of...Hole In The Wall.

Well since we were staying at the Wingate right next door we thought we'd give it a try. We ordered the #12 and a Taco Salad with grilled chicken. I got the #12 which consisted of a Burrito, Enchilada and a Tamale. The food was great and the sauce they used was much better than most Mexican restaurants I've eaten at. The Tamale itself was nothing like I'd ever seen. All I've ever seen were small rolled corn meal kind. Well this looked more like a small pita but was the corn meal and it was probably the best tamale I've had in a long time.

The salsa was a little watered down but had a nice kick to it and the chips were warm and fresh. Our server seemed a bit pissed off to be there but he was cordial. We rolled in the parking lot around 12:45pm and it was packed. We grabbed the last table available and it took about 15 minutes to get our meal. Overall I was very pleased with the food, the atmosphere was lacking but I guess it's more about the food. Overall I'd give Miguel's an "A" for food quality and "C" for service.
