The Westin is in the middle of uptown Charlotte and is close to the Bobcats arena and next door to the convention center. Staff were nice but not always the most knowledgeable. The rooms were tiny for Charlotte and the parking was a bit on the pricey side for uptown. The heavenly bed was just as described, overall this is a really great hotel, but the tiny rooms keep it from being all that it can be.

Very nice westin, right next to the convention center.
Plus: no line at checkin. plenty of water pressure. Nice view from the room. Very clean hotel and room. Wired and wireless internet.

Cons: $10/day for internet. Coffee in lobby only available until 11am, even on weekends. Room ventilation was less than ideal... a shower steamed up the entire room for awhile.

The fitness center charges a fee, but they were kind enough to let my son take a shower there even after we had checked out of the room.

Overall, I'd happily stay here again if I had business/pleasure at the convention center.

I recently stayed at the Westin for 2 nights for a business meeting. I cannot comment on the value of the hotel as I did not pay for it and am not familiar with the exact price. The hotel was nice and the staff was accomodating. The room was a nice size. The hotel room was very clean and the heavenly bed was comfortable as it suggests.

There are extra costs for many things including the internet ($10). The formal restaraunt was very nice. I did not expect the food to be as good as it was so that was a surprise. The service was excellent. I will say that I was disappointed with the Bar in the lobby. It was too open and there was a lounge area adjacent to it filled with children that were running around including behind my table where I was trying to enjoy a drink. That is my major complaint. Kids do not belong in bars and I dont prefer the atmosphere to be romper room when I am enjoying a cocktail. In addition check the calender at the convention center which is located across the street. This hotel will draw all of the crowds and participants from whatever events are there and it so happened that there was a national childrens cheerleading competition there this weekend (Not FUN) although this is not the hotels fault.

Overall it was a good experience and a very nice hotel. The food provided for the conference was very good as well. The hotel is located in the uptown district. There were some decent restaraunts not far from the hotel.....I would suggest RiRa's. I would stay here again

We stayed at the Omni one night and then Westin for a few. I will say that i liked the Westin better, but it is not downtown. At least at the Omni, you could walk around to the different shops and restaurants. The Westin is kind of off in no mans land. We walked blocks in the rain just to get to the sports areana. There are few if any taxis willing to help you as well.

Westin had nice linens, helpful staff, and nice amenities. Since this was New Years Eve, there was alot of younger kids partying here which was annoying being 35. They did get a little loud.

I will have a hard time choosing next time in Charlotte. I thought there were issues with both hotels. Maybe select a new one all together,

This is a top notch hotel. I traveled to Charlotte for the College Football Bowl game and stayed from December 27-31 with my wife and two teenage boys.

General Comments:
The common area around the hotel is very nice with a bar with big screen TVs, a coffee shop and a restaurant. We attended a game day function in the Grand Ball Room which lived up to its name. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Location:
This was a perfect location for the football game. Just a few blocks and an easy walk to the stadium. It is also right next to the convention center. It was a 5-10 min walk to most of the office buildings and the restaurants in the heart of the city. That made it a little difficult at night because the hotel does not have a shuttle.

Room:
We were able to upgrade to a two room king suite with our Starwood points which gave us a lot of extra space. We were on the 13th floor with a great view of the stadium. The room had two bathrooms and two showers which made things easy with two teenagers.
Like most Westin’s the highlight of the room is the comfortable bed. The sheets, the bed cover and the mattress are all first class and extremely comfortable. The only downside of the room was a limited selection of channels on the TV. There were maybe 15-20 channels. Only ESPN – no ESPN 2, U or news, a few local channels, the weather channel only had the national forecast (no set for Charlotte), and a lot of the news channels.

Summary:
Without hesitation I would stay here again. Great location for BOA stadium. Comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff.
