This hotel is great!!! We stayed here for three months on a business trip and it a great experience. The staff here was very friendly, tend to all our needs, great breakfast buffet, close to shopping and restaurants. We will stay here again when we come back to the area.

I stayed a total of three weeks in this hotel this past month. I found the rooms very clean, the bed very comfortable, the breakfast buffet superb and the staff very friendly and helpful. As a business traveler I also found the free Internet very convenient. I have no complaints and no bad experiences. I would stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in Charlotte. I would recommend this hotel to anyone but be sure to book a couple of weeks in advance as they filled up quickly.

I stayed at the SpringHill Suites for a business trip. I arrived very late and finally got checked into my room about 10:30 pm. Once I had unpacked some things and was ready to call it a night I turned on the light in the sitting area to get some things to read before going to bed and as soon as I hit the light switch I saw a bright blue light and the power to my room went out. There I was in the dark. I had to find the door to open to get some light in. It was horrible! I called down to the front desk and was very happy at the fast response of the maintenance person... that is until he said to me "I don't know nothin' about no power" then he left. I am not kidding. Why would you employ someone at night that could not fix problems as they happen? I called back down to the front desk and they told me to come downstairs to be moved to another unit. There I was in the dark trying to locate my things I had previously unpacked, not to mention it is already after 11 pm and I had a meeting first thing the next morning. I was moved to a room on a different floor all the way on the other side of the hotel. This new room was not as updated and my previous one. The next morning the front desk promised that when I returned that afternoon I could be moved back into my room once the power was restored. I wanted to be on that floor since my other teammates were there also. I returned that afternoon to learn the front desk had already given my room to someone else. I really didn't appreciate that since I was told that I could move back. Another factor we all noticed is that this hotel is listed as a "non smoking" hotel but all of our rooms had a very strong smoke smell. That was not pleasant at all. As far as the room itself, the comfort of the bed was above average for a hotel. The room was clean except for the cigarette smell.

It is with mixed results that i write this review. The hotel was very clean,it almost looked new. the staff was nice,the continental breakfast was great. but the beds ruined my whole trip. it was like sleeping on bricks.I honestly think i would have been better off sleeping on the floor.I am scared to book a hotel with marriot now, for the fear that all their chains use the same rock mattresses.
