My family and several friends stayed at this Comfort Suites for one night. The rest of our party arrived before we did and were able to use a coupon found in a flyer for their stay. I should have seen the red flags as soon as I arrvied. As I am walking in the lobby with flyer in hand, the girl at the desk practically yells at me, "I cannot book you a room with that coupon!" Now I had not even walked up to the check-in desk when she says this. As a matter of fact, I had not even spoken to anyone at the desk yet or even asked for a room. Very rude and unprofessional. There was another young man working at the desk and he looked over at her. I thought he might speak up, but he says nothing. When I mention that the other members of our party had already checked in using the coupon, she says that all the rooms designated for the coupon price are all gone. I can understand that, so I tell her I have AAA and ask the rate. She continues to use an extremely rude tone. But against my better judgement, we get a room at the AAA price. The condition of the bedroom area was mediocre, but the bathroom was in major need of renovations. Pieces of the wall were falling off and the ceiling had obviously been patched many times. We also asked for a rollaway bed when checking in. She informed us this would be $10.00 extra. Okay, no problem, but it still had not arrived by 10:00 p.m. and we had checked in at 4:00 p.m. After 3 calls to the front desk, at 11:00 p.m. my husband cancelled the bed, since our 12 year old son had already fallen asleep in the king bed with us! Then it gets worse. During the night, three of our party's cars were broken into in the parking lot. One of our friends lost their golf clubs, dvd player, and several other items. The people at the front desk said they were surprised it happened, but later one of the housekeepers said it happens about every 2 months. Avoid this place, there are lots of better places to stay one or two exits away. We learned the hard way.

I was in Charlotte during a NASCAR race weekend. Although I wasn't attending the races, hotels were pretty full and many at the Comfort Suites were obviously race fans (apparel, logos on vehicles, etc.). There were many families with children but I did not hear any disturbances at night.
The free breakfast buffet was adequate (not anything to rave about). The room was clean, bedding in good condition, refrigerator working well, etc. I was impressed by the desk clerks and the way one handled a problem with a customer. They were also quick to offer maps and directions to those unfamiliar with the area. The clerks were both friendly and competent--a good combination. I also liked the location, near Interstate 85 exit and just off Billy Graham Parkway but still not noisy traffic. As I said when checking out, I will probably stay there again.
