I have stayed at the Ballantyne Marriott on many occassions over the past year and I have to say, the reason is the staff! The hotel is an average Courtyard Hotel. However,there is a gentlman at the front desk (Stephan) that I must say is the biggest asset to that hotel. He has a splendid personality and has gone oout of his way on many occasions to assist me during my stay, anything from directions, resturant recommendations, to just being a super friendly and welcoming person EVERY time I've seen him.
So if you are looking for top notch service stay here (when he is working).

We specifically chose this hotel for it's superb location in South Charlotte and access to 485 (outerbelt). It was very clean, breakfast was very good (lots of choices), the service was warm and friendly as expected. Our room was on the smaller side and the bathroom area was a little tough to navigate (small dressing area). Other than that, it's a great hotel for the money in a great area - just across the street from the Ballantyne Resort. You can use the resort's gym which is nice too.
