This is a convenient place to stay for visitors to UNC-Charlotte, Lowe's Motor Speedway, Concord Mills Mall, and other attractions in the University City/Concord area.
This is a fairly large property as far as Sleep Inns go, with five stories.Getting in and out is a bit tricky, as the turn into the hotel (behind Shoney's and Bojangles) is a tight turn. If you want to get back on Harris Blvd. you have to turn right out of the entrance and make a U-turn at the next light.
The hotel itself is clean and kept well maintained. There was a problem with cleaning carts and piles of dirty linens in the hallways (we checked in about an hour before the posted check-in time), and with some of the workers hanging out in the breakfast area.
The room itself appeared to be newly furnished, with new flat-screen TV and micro-fridge unit. The beds are comfortable, but the rooms with two beds have doubles instead of queens. This hotel apparent;ly only have the Sleep walk-in showers, as I requested a standard tub but did not get one.
This is a VERY busy and noisy area, and whatever soundproofing the hotel has isn't enough to keep out the sounds of sirens and revving motorcycle engines. Noise from the hallway was also a bit too loud. Breakfast is the upgraded Sleep Inn buffet with self-serve waffles.
Overall, if you can put up with a bit of noise, the Sleep Inn is perfectly fine for a couple nights. With lots of shopping and restaurants around, there's plenty to do- if you feel like fighting the traffic.
