This was our first visit to Charlotte. Picked this hotel for convenience, refrig. and microwave in room, cont. breakfast (we agree with previous poster - a bit lame - needed more fresh fruit and less pastry. Our oranges were hard as rocks), and price was right $70.00 per night.
Location was good and easily got on the freeway. One negative, which was no fault of the hotel, was a woman with a gaggle of kids who were obnoxiously loud in the hallways and her screaming at them made it worse. Luckily she checked out after the screamfest.
Room and hallways clean, liked the work desk and free internet access. Our room also had a reclining chair, which I really enjoyed.
Front desk worker, Octavio, gave us a great tip on a little restaurant called "Harper's" on Woodlawn Ave.
(5 min. from hotel). They had "the best ribs in charlotte" to us. And we are very picky when it comes to ribs. He also gave us each a card for a free appetizer or dessert. We ate there several times during our stay and everything was A-1, including the Carolina Coleslaw, which was a favorite to us. Advertisements talked about "Sonny's" having the best ribs, but Harper's BEAT the pants off them.
Also, nice fitness room. Elevators need to be worked on as they were stale and very SLOW....
Overall, we give it an "above average review" and would definitely stay there again.
