Hello

We will have a 5 hr layover - What is there to do in the airport? Are there any resturants? Also, what is close by?

Yes - Quite a few restaurants, bars, etc. There are nice rocking chairs at various locations too. Some typical airport shopping as well.Try this website for a list: ifly.com/charlotte-douglas-international-air…

Close by - not a lot. The Billy Graham Library and Museum is almost adjacent to the Airport - free admission. The U.S. National Whitewater Center is 10-15 minutes away.

If you like classic & military airplanes, the Carolinas Aviation Museum is located at the airport. Admission is $7.00 http://www.carolinasaviation.org

Five hours, hmm... Like the other posters said, there really isn't a heck of a lot near the airport. I doubt you want to rent a car for just a few hours, so you may be stuck. There are some full service restaurants, Phillips, Chili's and a Cantina (I can't think of the others, I'm sure there are some), I'm sure you could waste a little time there. They have a lot of neat shops and a spa! Could get a quick massage, might kill some time. Good luck!
