1st time going to Charlotte/Good Steakhouses |
Where should we eat?? We want an upscale steakhouse. I have read some reviews of The Capitol Grille and Bently's on 27. Still don't know which to pick. We are already familiar with Ruth Chris's and Morton's. However, we wanted to try something new. Thanks in advance for your help! |
you could also try Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House...there are only 5 or 6 in the entire country and its definitely an upscale place....very good
I looked at the website, it looks great. We are all about STEAK and wine. They seem to have both! Thank you! We will be there for 4 nights. Are there any other resturants that you would recommend? Thank you for your help.

if you are looking for steak...that is your best option in charlotte IMO... i also like dresslers in birkdale village..not expensive and is good quality food....even if you dont eat there...you should check out birkdale village...its a really neat area with shopping and dining...
I see you've made up your mind but for future reference... I've never been disappointed at Capital Grille. Best wishes.
Agree about Birkdale Village. Dressler's is top notch and there is also a wine bar/lounge at Birkdale. If you are up in that area, Mickey & Mooch is fantastic restaurant....food, service, wine, and definitely steaks are excellent.
Thanks everyone for the info! I think that we are going to go to Capitol Grille one night and Del frisco's another night. Then we'll try to head up to Birkdale Village. I'll let you all know how it was when we get back.
I 2nd the Mickey and Mooch's suggestion. It is one of Charlotte's best.

The best non-chain steak I have had in Charlotte came at McIntosh's in the Southend district of town. http://www.mcintoshs1.com/ This is an upscale place, but not stuffy. The service is outstanding, probably the best overall service I have had in Charlotte. There is also another unusual, but popular place to get steak...Beef and Bottle on South Blvd. Don't worry when you drive up to it (it looks...well...real ugly). This 50+ year old steakhouse is excellent, even if it does look every bit of it 50 years old. Bently's is unique restuarant, but not exactly a steakhouse. I would steer to McIntosh's or if you are feeling like a unique experience setting, Beef and Bottle.
i've only been to one of the restaurants mentioned above, and that was mcintosh's. we had a perfect meal, service was excellent and my steak was cooked EXACTLY the way i like it, which is sometimes a challenge. i would not hesitate to revisit. good luck!
Try sullivans on South Blvd my husband and I went for our anniversary the service was great ,food was excellent and they also have an awsome martini.
